Our Story
OC Ministries began its journey with a simple mission: to build classrooms and provide education to communities in need. However, soon after its inception, it became evident that the communities they served had additional needs beyond education. In response, in 1998 Operation Classroom transformed into OC Ministries, expanding its mission to include a holistic approach to community development. Today, OC Ministries focuses on various initiatives including building churches, clinics, promoting agriculture, providing clean water, and fostering connections within communities.
Over the years, OC Ministries has made significant strides in fulfilling its mission in Chile, Haiti, Jamaica, Liberia, Puerto Rico, Sierra Leone, and Uganda:
-
Schools have been constructed or rehabilitated in numerous communities
-
Teachers have been trained and students have been sponsored
-
Maternal care and vision clinics have been established
-
Agricultural projects have been implemented yielding avocados, cassava and other crops to feed students and support communities.
Through these efforts, OC Ministries has positively impacted thousands of children and families each year. Communities now have access to education, healthcare, clean water, and agricultural resources, resulting in reduced hunger and improved livelihoods.
Moreover, OC Ministries has facilitated cultural exchange and understanding, fostered intergenerational support, and built lasting partnerships with communities and organizations worldwide. As OC Ministries continues to grow and evolve, it remains committed to its mission of transforming lives and building a brighter future for communities in need.
